While the press overall doesn't seem too impressed by the production of 'Dusty' at the Charing Cross theatre, they don't fail to acknowledge Dusty's greatness. Here are some of the more uplifting reviews: Digital Spy and Londonist. Nevertheless, according to a witness, the theatre was packed and the audience gave a long, standing ovation to the cast on press night.
Curious to see the new cast on the DUSTY show? Due to popular demand, there will be an additional matinee at 2.30pm on Wednesdays. Also, best price ticket for ALL performances are down from £49.50 to £20 in September. Tickets should be booked using this link: www.ticketmaster.co.uk/promo/yik5pl. And if you mention ‘Memphis’ at the box office you’ll get a free brochure worth £8.
3D laser technology makes it possible: Dusty plays herself in the show 'Dusty', which begins previews at the Charing Cross Theatre on May 25, according to Broadway World.
After several failed attempts to make a movie or stage show about Dusty - part of the problem having been to find someone who can act and sing like Dusty - the latest innovative technology now offers the possibility of Dusty being virtually present through 3D laser technology, body-double, and images, walking, talking, and singing in her own voice.
The initial run ends on August 22. Let's hope the show is a success, then it could move on to the West End.
