Beginning in October, 2007, to celebrate our first anniversary, Let's Talk Dusty! fans began raising money for various charities and causes in honour of Dusty.
Causes we support are -
- Cancer Research at the Royal Marsden Hospital, where a day is dedicated to Dusty on her birthday,
- The Dusty Springfield Animal Fund,
- a Flower Fund for Dusty's marker in Henley,
- The Cats Protection Society and
- The Wildlife Waystation in California, both charities Dusty herself supported.
One of our biggest sources of fundraising has been the sale of hundreds of raffle tickets. An amazing assortment of Dusty prizes are donated by fellow Dusty fans, including original drawings or pastels of Dusty.
Monies are also raised from sales of Dusty t-shirts, CDs, calendars, badges, and DVDs. Many of these - including black polo and tshirts with Dusty's signature in hot pink - are still available for fans.
See the LTD forum Wishin' and Hopin' section for all fundraising offers and news.
